Late Policy Extenuating Circumstances – Contact your instructor – Communication is the key when circumstances arise Documentation may be required Note: Computer related issues and internet connectivity issues are not considered extenuating circumstances

Late Policy (Cont.) Without extenuating circumstances: – Up to one week (1-7 calendar days) late 20% deduction in points – After one week (8-14 calendar days) late 30% deduction in points – No work will be accepted more than two weeks after the due date

Make-Up Work In order to make up a quiz, exam, or discussion thread: – You must contact your instructor by email at least one day prior to the day you want to make up the work so that access can be provided – You must notify your instructor by email when you have submitted late work

Class requirements Projects and/or assignments – Due Tuesday 11:59 pm ET of their assigned unit Final Exam Writing project Discussions Seminars – Are graded-so you need to attend

Seminars Seminars are held weekly – Wednesday, 9 to 10 PM ET Seminars are now graded so it is important that you attend and participate in them Preset Seminar—see instructions for entering – Will receive an email reminder each week

Discussion Boards Post a minimum of three posts per discussion question—one initial response and two replies to classmates – Initial post must be made by Saturday – Initial post must be a minimum of 100 words Grading Rubric— – Quality, Participation, Clarity & organization, Professional and Netiquette

Homework Assignments Problems from end of chapters Must use Excel templates provided in Doc Sharing Must be submitted to the dropbox to ensure credit Assignments are due Tuesday 11:59 PM ET of their assigned unit. Assignments are worth 50 points each

Assignment Grading 90-100% = – Homework exercises and/or problems are completed in full – Work submitted demonstrates effective usage of the concepts and/or principles discussed in the chapter – Work submitted thoroughly explains answers and calculations – Answers are calculated with no errors or minimal errors

Grading criteria 80-89%= – Homework exercises and/or problems are completed in full or are substantially complete – Work submitted demonstrates effective usage of most concepts and/or principles discussed in the chapter – Work submitted thoroughly explains most answers and calculation – Answers are calculated with minimal errors

Grading criteria 70-79%= – Homework exercises and/or problems are substantially complete – Work submitted demonstrates effective usage of some concepts and/or principles discussed in the chapter – Work submitted thoroughly explains some answers and calculations – Answers are calculated with significant errors

Grading criteria 60-69%= – Homework exercises and/or problems are only partially complete – Work submitted demonstrates effective usage of few concepts and/or principles discussed in the chapter – Work submitted thoroughly explains few answers and calculations – Answers are calculated with significant errors

Grading criteria 0-59%= – Homework exercises and/or problems are less than 50% complete – Work submitted does not demonstrate effective usage of the concepts and/or principles discussed in the chapter – Work submitted does not thoroughly explain answers and calculations – Answers are not calculated or are calculated with significant errors

Netiquette Internet etiquette – Give yourself some time before responding if you are upset – Be kind and considerate – All caps comes across as shouting – Messages should be short and to the point – Practice good grammar, punctuation, and composition—use spell check – Be respectful

Grades All course projects submitted will be graded within five days of their due date(the Sunday of the following unit). Late work will be graded within five days of the submission date Discussion grades will be updated each week no later than Friday of the week following the Unit’s completion
