1. Introduction The use of computer facilities has become widely increased in different areas. Mining engineering in general and ore reserve estimation in particular are among these applications.

2. Objectives To design a suitable database for the Egyptian mines and quarries. Not only: names and locations of the mines, But also: current mining operations, machines, economics and environmental issues, geological maps, and Moreover: A simple computer software for ore reserve estimation and calculations of the ore average thickness and grade.

3. Problem Definition Conventional methods are not accurate, time consuming. Advanced techniques (Geostatistics) are costy, and still complicated. Problem 2 Problem 3 Problem 1 Lack of information required for research work and investors.

4. O.R.E Software

For each triangle 2. Average assay = 1. Average thickness =

3. Area of triangle = For the total area 1. Average thickness =

Fast, accurate, and cost-effective tool All internal calculations use 16 digits after the decimal point Just enter your data, all results and Data analysis are ready for you.

Monitor the changes in the special distributions of sampling parameters of sampling parameters Monitor the changes in the special distributions of sampling parameters of sampling parameters You can change, modify, add or remove any point and see the effects instantaneously

More advantages You can add assumed points anywhere and estimate the ore and other metals at these assumed points You can add assumed points anywhere and estimate the ore and other metals at these assumed points It is so easy, just right click On any place and choose “ Add assume ” It is so easy, just right click On any place and choose “ Add assume ”

All detailed information And estimation about An assumed point All detailed information And estimation about An assumed point

In order to examine the reliability of the developed Software, the result of ore reserve estimation of the (MCS) * is compared with the last report about the same area and provided by the Ministry of Industry and Mining Projects Egypt (1996). Proved ore reserves of the (MCS) = 27 million tons (report).Proved ore reserves of the (MCS) = 27 million tons (report). Calculated ore reserves using O.R.E software =26.62 million tons.Calculated ore reserves using O.R.E software =26.62 million tons. Validation

5. Mining Information System (MIS) A database system that involves information and data about mining sites in a way that the data can be retrieved, updated and manipulated easily to produce useful information.

6. Conclusions An outline of designing a database for the Egyptian Mines has been introduced. A new Software for ore reserve estimation has developed and used with the following facilities: Estimating the tonnage of ore reserve for the considered area; provided that sufficient sampling data are available. Calculating the area, average thickness or assay within any portion of the entire area.

A list of the most important information that required for the aimed database have been addressed. A questionnaire is being prepared and will be sent to the Egyptian authorities and mining companies to cooperate and provide the required information so that a complete database can be created.
