Impressions Impression-the imprint of teeth and surrounding tissues. Used in premolars & molars due to color Capsule form Powder/liquid separated Triturated to mix with an amalgamator Zinc-suppresses oxidation Silver-gives strength Tin-workability & strength Copper-strength & low corrosion Mercury-makes easy to apply & adapt to tooth structure

Restoration Composite Tooth colored filling material used in anterior teeth mostly Withstands the environment of the oral cavity Easily shaped to the anatomy of a tooth Match natural tooth color Bonded directly to the tooth surface for strength Paste in light-proof tube, cured (polymerized or hardened) with curing light Acid etching - prepares the enamel for application of sealants and composite materials- creates better retention between tooth and filling or sealant
