AS-5601 2004 Edition Gas Installation Update As per the Gas Supply (Consumer Safety) Regulation 2012, Section 22 Gas fitting work to comply with certain standards There are no changes; gas work carried out in NSW must comply with 5601 Gas installation 2004 edition Currently Policy is reviewing the 2013 edition and as per previous years, will be seeking industry feedback to look at whether the latest version is suitable and an amendment should be made to adopt the 2013 edition into the regulation

3. Gas Certificate of Compliance (CoC) As of the 1st march 2013 a new online Certificate of Compliance (CoC) was introduced? MyInspection The MyInspections gateway allows users to pay fees and submit documents related to plumbing and drainage work, and applies to all on-site plumbing and drainage work in the areas where Fair Trading conducts inspections in the Sydney and Newcastle regions only. 6. Reform of the residential home building laws update The New South Wales Government is reviewing the residential home building laws. This review was currently open for public consultation which closed last Friday 15th August. To know more about the  Regulatory Impact Statement – Home Building Regulation 2014  Public consultation draft – Home Building Regulation 2014 You can find a copy on fair trading website under Consultation on the draft Home Building Regulation 2014 What is the next step? All submissions will be considered and assessed, after a final version of the Regulation will be submitted to the Governor for approval. Once approved, the Regulation will be published on the NSW legislation website.
