Animal Group A jaguar is a mammal It has fur. It gives birth to live young.

Habitat Jaguars live in grasslands, forests and jungles.

Food Jaguars like to eat fish, frogs, turtles in the water. On land they will hunt tapir, peccaries, capybara, or deer.

Adaptations Coloration serves as camouflage. Lighter colored jaguars live in grassland and forest where they blend in among vegetation. Black jaguars blend in better in dark forests and jungles.

Babies My animal usually has 3 babies at a time. When my animal is a baby it is called a cub.

Interesting Facts The largest feline on the American continent Has the strongest bite of all cats There are about 15,000 jaguars living in the rainforest Humans have hunted them for their furs The babies live on their own when they are 1 or 2 years old.
