16 The Hero’s Journey and The Nemesis  Every hero must have a villain, monster, crisis, etc.  This nemesis is or becomes part of their quest’s goal  The strength of the nemesis is the weakness of the hero  He/She embodies everything that the hero is not

20 In your groups…  Begin drafting the “monster/crisis” segment of your hero’s journey  Create an arch-nemesis whose greatest strength is your hero’s greatest weakness  He/She should be near impossible for your hero to overcome  Describe how your hero defeats their nemesis  Be creative, make it epic  Don’t forget the action!  Be thinking of where your story started, and where it has gone so far  Is their quest to defeat this nemesis? Or is this nemesis merely standing in the way of them completing their quest?
