Context of Parksec What we are The organisation responsible for managing and marketing the proactive patrolling scheme in the Parks through one service provider.

Why Parksec ? Organisation totally focused on security We have experience from a community perspective of dealing with a community based scheme We have a very good track record reducing crime by 90% and consistently achieving this We have put our money where our mouth is, rolling out 66 cctv camera’s since our last feedback meeting (2 years) and an extra vehicle

Meetings: – Weekly sales meetings with CORTAC to review activities – Weekly security briefings with SAPS and security providers – Monthly Parksec committee meetings – with CORTAC – Monthly CSF (Community Safety Forum) meetings with SAPS, security providers and RA reps.

Last 12 months Communication: Weekly crime updates and lookout information – email, website, Facebook and Twitter. Urgent lookouts - Facebook, Twitter & WhatsApp groups

Parksec security initiatives Encourage residents to call in suspicious activity Setup WhatsApp street groups – facilitating instant crime updates and alerts across our suburbs Along with CORTAC we arrange for tactical officers to visit show days each weekend Encourage residents and business owners to participate in SAPS operations when required Encourage neighbours and friends to join Parksec

Moving Forward 50% increase in patrol vehicles, currently 3 vehicles patrolling the suburb 24/7 Cameras – street initiative 0 % increase in subscription fees Branching into other Parks suburbs Continue to roll out Parksec signs, with 200 still to install, to receive your sign email carole@parksec.co.za
