CTE Available to All Students? Previous CTE offerings were limited in juvenile facilities. Students returning to home high school and CTE coursework. Repeat Truancy Issues Graduation Cohort Waiver Request OIEP restructured resources to provide CTE in all settings. 7

Students who enroll in a Career-Integrated Experiential Learning concentration (CIEL) have the opportunity to complete traditional or virtual courses from a CTE concentration. CIEL concentration ensures that the remaining courses within the concentration may include the Ready to Work Certification course 1 or 2, the Entrepreneurial Preparedness course, C-Tech or Experiential Learning. 12

Experiential Learning A student enrolled in the CIEL concentration can receive one credit toward completer status for 135 hours. A student completing 270 hours will be awarded two credits. 13

Easily Transferrable When a student completes the Ready to Work Certifications course (1 or 2), the Entrepreneurial Preparedness course or Experiential Learning hours, he or she will receive credit applicable to the CIEL certificate. These credits can transfer to any OI EP facility or to the home high school. 15

What are some things that should happen upon enrollment in OIEP to determine CTE access? 1. Review of Student’s Current Schedule from Home High School 2. Review of Personalized Education Plan Was the student enrolled in a CTE course? Is the student able to continue in the course traditionally or virtually? What are the student’s options at OIEP school if the course cannot be offered traditionally or virtually? 21
