Eduqas AS Level Business – (AS) AS Level: Two examinations, component 1 & component 2 Component 1 - 40% - 1 hour paper of short and long answer questions Component 2 - 60% - 2 hour paper of short and long answer questions, including extensive writing questions on particular business issues There are 41 chapters of topic content to learn, understand, apply and analyse.

8. Pre-Course Reading and summer work If you have studied Business Studies it is important that you keep your guides and GCSE books to re-familiarise yourself with topic areas over the summer. You will be provided with 2 chapters for reading on certain topics. Two important topics that you need to ensure you revise and review are: Enterprise & Business Planning Market structures & Economies

9. Pre-Course Reading and summer work Business is a subject that changes frequently depending on how the markets perform. You need to familiarise yourself with types of business and the sectors they operate in – i.e smartphones are in the technology market, farming is in the agricultural market etc. You need to access these platforms to ensure that you are keeping up to date with current affairs within businesses and the issues/problems they encounter: BBC news The Guardian Tutor2u.net

10. Diagnostic assignment The Diagnostic assignment is a paper put together to test the areas that come up at AS that you should be familiar with from GCSE: Unit 1 Introduction to small businesses Unit 2 Investigating small businesses Unit 3Building a Business This should take no longer than 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete and must be submitted on the first business lesson next year.
