4. The Work of the Spirit in the Age of the Spirit: …to help bring to fulfillment in the believer all that has been provided for us by the Father and the Son and to assist the believer in becoming all that God in Christ has made it possible for us to become.

5. Three Significant Encounters with the Holy Spirit:  Being Born of the Spirit  Being Baptized with the Spirit  Being Filled with the Spirit

6. Born of the Spirit The Spirit enters our spirit and we become a child of God and the Temple of the Holy Ghost We receive he evidence of the inner witness of the Spirit The outcome or fruit of this experience is the growth of the fruit of the Spirit Primary focus: CHARACTER OF CHRIST

7. Baptized in the Holy Spirit An anointing with power upon the believer We receive the evidence of speaking with other tongues The outcome of this experience is a greater release and security in using the Gifts of the Spirit Primary focus: THE ABILITY OR POWER OF CHRIST

8. Filled with the Spirit The Spirit fills the heart and mind of the Spirit so that every thought, determination and action is under the pervading influence and direction of the Holy Spirit It is to be a continual and daily experience of the believer The evidence of the filling of the Spirit is boldness The fruit is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost Primary focus: DAILY ENDURANCE

10. The need for continual filling We need continual filling because:  The routines of life can drain us  The attacks of the enemy can deplete our energy  The special challenges that each day holds can try us  The opposition from unbelievers can discourage us

11. The path to continual filling 1. We must recognize our need 2. We must take the initiative. 3. We must hunger and thirst 4. We must ask 5. We must do this often

12. All these encounters with the Spirit are tools that God has given to us to help us fulfill our mission and purpose, so…
