7. Question 2 Hot springs is a United States National park located in central Garland county Arkansas. Hot springs was originally established before the concept of a national park even existed. It at the time was considered a area of recreation. It was established by the US congress on April 20,1832. Hot springs is the first and oldest park created by 40 years! The hot spring water has been popularly believed for centuries to possess medicinal properties, and was a subject of legend among several Native American tribes. Since Hot Springs National Park is the oldest park maintained by the National Park Service, it was rightfully the first to receive its own US quarters in April 2010 as part of Americas the beautiful coin series.
