Week 6 Final Project Community Event Michael Leazer October 26, 2015 EDU620 Dr. Adriane Wheat
2
Audience: Will have a live set up of a class setting to show to the community various technological devices that are used in UDL that will be installed. Students will be available in the class setting so that the audience will see first hand how the class will be using UDL in the class session. Some students will be placed at stations to advertise the UDL approach of learning. Will have a display of the technological tools used in UDL. These will help to attract the attention of the audience to see how this will help. Information: Information will by shown to all attendees on the non biasness of the UDL learning approach. All attendees must know that UDL’s approach embraces all learners, this is done no matter their abilities, disabilities, or age, and can accommodate all needs. Station 1: Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
3
Demonstrate: We will use video clip that helps demonstrate UDL. The clip would help display learners in UDL class that is non-threatening. Highlights of how the class would support all learners despite their abilities. The clip would show how the learners work together with each other, as well as with tutors and instructors. Differentiation: The most important impact that UDL has on students is breaking the barrier that most people believe hinders the disadvantaged learners (Obcom, 2011). Simplifying the content relayed to students to enhance and accommodate the different abilities in understanding the content in UDL. Principles of UDL will be offered in multiple dimensions, which will help the learners. Station 1 cont.

UDL principles will express the different learning activities that captivate the interest of learners. Showing the audience that this will help motivate the learners both in the lessons and the learning process in general. Interaction: Attendees would be able to interact at the station. This will give them an insight as to the direction we are striving to obtain in the project. Attendees are allowed to interact with UDL technologies that will help with the approach of UDL that will be presented. Attendees are allowed to ask question, as there will be staff available to help answer their questions and help with their understanding. Station 1 cont.

Mission, Belief, and Goals: The mission of UDL, to provide the best teaching models that reflect on the learners and their needs, to obtain the best educational experience. UDL offer learners with diverse state of the art ways of representing information in the effort to meet the various needs of the learners (Pawling, 2010). The mission and beliefs of UDL work together to achieve the UDL goals of the learners. The goals ensure that all learners are assisted to develop their full maximum potential. Station 2: Technology and UDL for All Learners

Technology and 21 st -Century Skills: Arts is one of the more important courses. When looking at technology, learners are provided with the most modern equipment that help aid the learners in their outcome. Drawing for example, is a major component of the arts course, students are exposed to prominent painters around the globe through the internet (Bartel, 2014). The learners are taught how to attain success in different artistic work. When learners take an arts course, they are able to obtain skills that are not taught in other courses. Learners are able to expose their creativity side, and are able to think outside the box and allow their imagination to create a global concept. Critical thinking and problem solving are a major influence on communication, learners are able to use this within Arts. Station 3: 21 st -Century Skills Acquisition and Employability
8
Arts has provided the students with a platform to acquire lots of information regarding their artistic abilities majorly through the internet (Trilling, 2009). The internet has tools in arts, as well as other courses, students that are enrolled in arts courses are able to show their social and able to cross cultures. Tools: There are many applications and software that are available for learners who might have difficulty in remembering, these applications are able to keeps their work safe in the system. Interactions: The attendees will be able to interact with all the tools available at this time, all the tools will be placed on display. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions to help spark their interest, staff on hand will be available to educate the attendees. Station 3 cont.

New Technology: Learners education will benefit due to the upgrade of the quality delivery of education. All learners will be accommodated despite their abilities or needs. The school will benefit, alone with the community, where all learners will have opportunities to learn, there will be no discrimination and all learners will be given a fair shot at learning something they are interested in to better their futures. Helping the learners will provide the community with better candidates for their continue success in business. Station 3 cont.
