INTASC Standard, Description, & Rationale Standard #1: Learner Development -The teacher understands how learners grow and develop, recognizing that patterns of learning and development vary individually within and across the cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and physical areas, and designs implements developmentally appropriate and challenging learning experiences. Description -This is a personal statement PowerPoint that allows me to identify my core beliefs and effective teaching traits as I begin my journey toward becoming an educator. Rationale -For standard #1, learner development, I am including examples of ways students learn, some teaching philosophies I believe in, and describing some student and community characteristics of the bright young learners I hope to work with.
