COOKING WITH FRACTIONS By Baxter Marshman

JELLY We prepared the jelly by adding jelly crystals with boiling water and cold water, all ingredients were added into a bowl and put in the fridge until the jelly was set. Two flavours of Jelly were made – raspberry and lime. We added 250ml of boiling water and 200ml of cold water to make 450ml of jelly. Hot water 250/450=.55 Cold water 200/450=.45

PIZZA We made pizzas by adding lots of different ingredients like ham, pineapple, cheese and tomato paste. We spread all of the ingredients onto the pizza base and put it in the oven until it was cooked. Fractions were used by cutting the pizza into quarters – 4 pieces. 1 piece = 1/4

METHOD DOUBLED FOR JELLY You will need: 2 boxes of jelly 500ml of boiling water 400ml of cold water 1 Bowl And a wooden spoon

STEP 1 Pour the 2 boxes of jelly crystals in the bowl

STEP 2 Pour the 500ml of water in the crystals

STEP 3 Mix for 5 minuets

STEP 4 Pour the 400ml of cold water in the mix

STEP 5 Mix the mix until combined

STEP 6 Pour in the cups and refrigerate until firm

100 PEOPLE FOR LUNCH You need: Method 25 boxes of jelly crystals pour the crystals in the bowl 6250ml of boiling water add the boiling water and mix 5000ml of cold water add the cold water and mix A bowl and a wooden spoon until combined then pour the 100 cups mix in cups and refrigerate.
