HISTORY OF RECONSTITUTED TOBACCO Reconstituted Tobacco started in the 1970’s with the introduction of Paper Based Technology developed by Kimberley Clark USA. In the 1990’s, a new production process for RECON was launched called Slurry RECON by China National Tobacco Company (CNTC). In the early 2000’s, a hybrid of Paper Process and Slurry was developed by companies such as BAT. Nano Fiber RECON is the latest technology developed in 2008. Excellent way to save the Cost, improve the Taste and lower the Tar. Fourdrinier forming section of cantilever type Sheet Conveyor after Air Drying Tunnel Shredder PAPER TECHNOLOGY OUR RECONSTITUTED TOBACCO LEAF Papermaking reconstituted tobacco utilizes tobac co by-products such as stems, scraps and midribs etc. as its raw material and produced by paper technology. Tobacco by-products are broken up and mixed with water. The fiber portion and the soluble portion are separated. The fiber portion goes to papermaking process to be formed as a base sheet The soluble is cleaned and then concentrated by evaporation. The formed sheet and the extracted soluble is combined again. The sheet is dried and cut into usable shapes for cigarette manufacturer.
