Hospital Communications

Setting up Automatic Communications

Managing post-trigger communications

Working your list

Trouble Shooting difficult entries If you have gone to the record and entered (or modified) the document(s) that are required, if you come back to the worklist, you can push the “Refresh” button to confirm that the communication is now in a state where it can be sent. There is also conveniently a “Preview” option that will allow you to view what is being sent in this communication. And if you need to add or remove items from the communication before you send it, there is an “Edit Details” option that will allow you to make those modifications. Make sure that you are navigating to the correct episode (visit) to check your documentation. This information can be found at the top left of the expansion window under the Episode Details.

Additional Helpful tidbits: Previously sent communications will allow you the option to resend. Resending a communication will initiate a new entry exactly as the previous one. you will be able to update the route details to account for those calls where the recipient's fax machine or email failed on their end. In this manner, you keep a record of the first attempt, and a record of the new attempt as well. You can also add communications on the fly so that if you get a call from an owner or RDVM requesting you send records to someone specifically, you can do so conveniently from the comm worklist. There is a daily updates section of the record that can be leveraged if you desire to send daily notes to RDVMs via the worklist. If you are scanning records in, you can create a record group for the portions you are scanning in (anesthesia records and/or ICU treatment sheets) and replace the report with the attachment, and you will then be able to send those records via the comm worklist.
