God has a say Brethren have a say World has a Say
17
Our decisions are limited by the needs of God, my brethren, the world Expressing blatant sexuality is sinful and leads me, and others, away from God God wants people to see in us inner beauty, his work, and sensible, orderly, self- restrained, and discrete behavior
18
How do I decide??
19
About what you’re buying Too often it’s about “look at me!” Neither lust or an external focus is right Be honest and flee!
20
About gender differences Is it “ cute ” or is it “ HOT ?” Is it about color and style or skin ? Is it about attractive clothes or an attractive body (object) ? Don’t make yourself a channel for sin!
21
I can do what I want! Dangerous decision making based on moods, non-Biblical tastes, and desires Doesn’t worry about anyone else - not God who owns us, nor those who need to see God in us
22
I can do what I want! PARENTS – DON’T BUY IT! Don’t be afraid to say NO Make decisions with your “teenage eyes” (they aren’t little boys and girls anymore)
23
Do I expect clothes to make me attractive? Beauty that counts with God is inside (and with any guy/girl worth having) Do I need these to catch someone’s eye? God’s is the only eye you need to catch (those worth having look to catch His too)
24
Do I want clothes to make me desirable? God already desires your heart (So should the guy/girl who desires you) Do these clothes overshadow God’s work? His work is more important than your image
25
Do these clothes present the right image – Restrained, Sensible, Discrete? If not, you aren’t emphasizing God’s work If not, people won’t see God in you
26
What you wear determines what people think of you Thus, it determines whether people see God in you Don’t forget who you are
