Living Your Promised Land Life Now!

Keys to “Take Ground”  Respond properly in your wilderness  Read, believe and obey the Bible  Always remember the moment you encountered God

“Winning through ?” Joshua 5:13-15, 6:1-4

Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?” “Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.”

Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord have for his servant?” The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so. Joshua 5:13-15

Two questions to answer  Who is this man?  What did He want?

Who is this man? “Theophany” which is an appearance of God in human form  Joshua was being confronted by God himself in human form.

What did He want? Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?” “Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come…

What did He want? “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord have for his servant?” The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so. Joshua 5:13-15

What did He want?

He wanted Worship!

What is worship? Reverence …Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence…

Listening “…What message does my Lord have for his servant?” What is worship?

Obedience …The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so. What is worship?

Obedience Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1 What is worship?

Worship is obedience You will never take ground in your life if you are living in rebellion to God’s word.

Then the L ORD said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark…

On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.” Joshua 6:2-5
