2.  They are commonly nonsensical or bawdy in nature and commonly considered outside the realm of ‘cultivated poetry.’ That’s why they’re perfect for junior high!  A limerick is meant to be read aloud. If it doesn’t sound right, add or subtract syllables to make it flow better.
