Who are we? An established, successful alliance of 12 Scottish Universities, engaged in world class energy related Research, Development and Demonstration 250 academics + 700 researchers Largest, most broad based energy research partnership in Europe

Why do we exist? Capacity Building Deepening and broadening relationships and partnerships across ETP Relationship Building Develop strategic partnerships with industry, academia and other key stakeholders Economic Impact Outcomes that support technological innovation and economic growth while enhancing Scotland’s reputation in energy Internationalisation Project ETP on the international stage to promote new outreach and knowledge exchange opportunities

Knowledge Exchange Network Support for industry Business advice and support –We don’t charge for our time –Business and technology support –Help in finding and getting funding –Funding for Scottish SMEs Testing Facilities – Scottish Energy Laboratory Over 50 facilities across Scotland 60% in ETP and 40% in companies Combined investment value of over £250m

Energy Industry Doctorates Currently supporting over 70 Energy Industry Doctorates with final target 100 Meeting demand for “Industry Ready” researchers Companies co-invest, support project specification and engage directly with the research Average cost £75k total; Up to £30k from ETP, the rest split between university and industry partner

Internationalisation Example ENSEA Focus on energy system integration for low carbon and renewable energy €3m funding from EC for facilitating cooperation on innovation, research & knowledge exchange in 3 phases: 1. Analysis of regional capabilities & opportunities 2. Preparing Joint Action Plans for collaboration 3.
