8 Platform for dialogue and cooperation Partnership for coordinated action Outreach and raising awareness What will GGA do?
9
Partnership for Coordinated Action 9 Unlocking geothermal investment projects that are facing policy, legal, regulatory, fiscal, funding or capacity building challenges Enabling most mature projects or countries with transformative potential that would result in high impact on energy mix, access rate, etc. Assistance with overcoming such challenges through: Strengthen enabling policy & regulatory frameworks Raise awareness on and propose improvements of risk mitigation funds, targeted financing mechanisms Facilitate access to financing and risk mitigation instruments Enhance capacities
10
How will GGA Operate? 10 Neutrality and transparency no preferential treatment for a particular country, technology, scheme Build on structures, programs and facilities on the ground avoid overlaps, duplicated efforts No complicated administrative structures, processes avoid bureaucracy, focus on actions Action-oriented operation GGA Action Plan under finalization Identify specific activities under GGA Action Plan; seek support and funding from Members & Partners for each specific activity
11
How will GGA Prioritise its Actions? 11 Clear indication of interest from recipient of proposed GGA technical support Contribute to near term improvement of enabling frameworks for investment Sustained impact on fostering geothermal deployment Complementarity with activities of development partners Replicability of activities elsewhere
