2 Goal Determine how changes in air quality relate to the changes in life expectancy and mortality rates in Scotland Helps in determining the health effects of the changes in the air quality This will help the government to regulate the air pollution and thus ensure a better life expectancy and a lower mortality rate happening in Scotland.

3 Actors Primary Actor: End user: Interacts with the system Primary Actor: Administrator: Manages the ontology Secondary actor: Scotland Health Statistics Secondary actor: Scotland Environment Statistics Secondary actor: Visualization API’s

4 Flow 1. User visits the Health-Environment portal which gives a visualization of the data. 2. User selects the parameters for visualization on the X and Y axis. 3. User selects the data to be displayed using the check box in the visualization API. 4. User presses play button. 5. System retrieves data for the parameters and starts plotting the data on the graph as per the timeline. 6. The time interval for which the visualization is to be played is over. 7. User has the relation of how the changes of the 1st parameter has effect on the changes of the 2nd parameter

9 Visualization API

10 Conclusion System is also able to gather the values of the parameters affecting the air quality and life expectancy. By using this information we can plot a visualization say AirPollutants vs LifeExpectancy across a time frame. The checkboxes can be used to display values Ammonia, Lead etc so that user can select which pollutant he/ she wants to view. And when the time interval is played, the system will get the information from the ontology and display it on the visualization API year by year.
