Introduction Sacagawea was born in c. 1787. She went on the Lewis and Clark expedition and saved Lewis and Clark on many occasions. She died in 1812 at the age of 24, but the Charbonneau tribe believes that instead of dying she crossed the Great Plains and married into the Comanche Tribe. She is then recorded of returning to the Charbonneau Tribe and dying in 1884.
