Questions? Any questions regarding grading policies? I firmly believe in allowing learners to learn from their own work. I will always accept papers/projects ahead of time for a personal review by me. I will provide substantial feedback to you personally. However, you must give me at least 3 days before the assignment is due. I will also allow you to resubmit any paper or project for a better grade if submitted on time. You can earn up to half the points lost back to improve your grade. The number of points earned back depends on the corrections and/or additions that you make to the paper/project when you resubmit it. I will accept project resubmits up to one week after the assignment was due.

Other points you can earn Any item may be resubmitted or added to in order gain points back only if submitted on time. For example: Say you only earned 25/35 on your discussion board for the week and it was submitted on time; if you rework, add to or improve that assignment after grading based on my comments you can earn points back

Extenuating Circumstances If you have extenuating circumstances that prevent you from completing projects, quizzes or participating in the class, please contact me to make alternative arrangements. I believe in active communication as the key to overcoming any hurdles you may encounter during the term. If you are unable to contact me, you should contact your academic advisor.

Incompletes Incompletes provide students with limited additional time to complete coursework after the term’s end. To be considered for an incomplete, you should have completed approximately 75% of the coursework. Please see the Kaplan University catalog for further information. Whether or not to grant an incomplete is your instructor’s decision. The deadline for requesting an incomplete for the 2012-02A term is May 20. Incomplete coursework is due June 8.

Plagiarism Policy Kaplan University considers academic honesty to be one of its highest values. Students are expected to be the sole authors of their work. Use of another person’s work or ideas must be accompanied by specific citations and references. Though not a comprehensive or exhaustive list, the syllabus provides some examples of dishonesty or unethical and unprofessional behavior. Please review this policy!!!! When in doubt, please cite your resources.

Graded Reviews In units where you see graded reviews, please use the readings to assist you in answering the questions. Take your time, you have two hours to complete each review. I cannot extend this nor can I accept these late!

Projects Please note that our rubrics share details on grading for each project. Please use the rubrics as your guide and when you see templates for projects, please use them as well. I will provide examples in Doc Sharing as well. All projects are due on Tuesday evenings at 11:59 PM Eastern Time. Per KU policy, I cannot accept late projects in units 1-5. I can however allow you to resubmit if you are not happy with your grade and you make changes.
