2 MISSION AND VISION STATEMENT ArizOTA Mission Statement: The mission of the Arizona Occupational Therapy Association is to promote and support excellence and professionalism among occupational therapy practitioners, and to collaborate with community members, healthcare providers, educators, legislators, and reimbursement sources to facilitate activities and environments that enhance the occupational performance of patients and clients served. ArizOTA Vision Statement: The Arizona Occupational Therapy Association, as a proactive, dynamic and responsive organization, will be a driving force in advocating for: Systems change which supports creative member involvement through education, mentoring and resource provision, Legislative and reimbursement issues that effect quality of life for consumers and their ability to access occupational therapy services and Community involvement through marketing, consumer education and advocacy, support of emerging arenas and collaborating with healthcare systems, educational agencies, business and industry

11 LEGISLATIVE REPORT 2016 Legislative Session: SB 1305: OT Services for over 21 participants HB 2501: Proposal of unified boards Other: Behavioral Health services will transfer to AHCCCS summer 2016 ABOTE: Review of Rules (supervisory) remains on hold

12 NEW BUSINESS: BYLAWS Revised Bylaws Last copy of revision in 2003 Overall Proposed Changes Cleaned up and clear overall language Electronic means of voting and correspondence vs mail Expanded membership with clear language of their rights More direct language board of directors responsibilities regarding their positions on committees and SIS Experience required for board of directors Offsetting year of president and vice president Inclusion of student representatives and leaders Changes in annual business meeting quorum Clearer language on the formation of SIS groups Option to not use Roberts Rules of Order with 2/3 majority vote of the Board of Directors
