Piezoelectric effect When mechanical stresses are applied on certain crystals and ceramics, they develop some charge across their two faces.

Piezo-electric current This charge from the crystals due to the mechanical stresses is in the form electric current, hence called Piezo-electric current.

PIEZO-PATTI on the Roadways At heavy traffic areas such as in cities and on highways, many PIEZO-PATTI strips of the orders of 4” x 36” will be matted on the road and the output ends will be connected to a grid that amplifies this energy. Used to illuminate street lights and traffic signals and even to power hybrid cars.
