As a long- time presenter and WordPress website builder, I am on the constant lookout for ways to help me Jump in and get going.
5
As in many tasks, I usually find that getting started is the hardest part. I usually dread the tedium of planning the site.
6
Proper planning involves doing keyword research, and then trying to organize content in tight themes around the keywords. It can be very confusing.
7
Way back in 2009, Google introduced a tool called the Wonder Wheel, which was designed to help users rapidly drill down in their keyword research several levels. It helped find those elusive long-tail, lower- competition keywords, as well as helped the knowledgeable researcher in structuring their content.
8
When used properly, the Wonder Wheel gave a big hint to content producers as to exactly what Google was looking for in organization of content. By providing this kind of structure, content producers were finding Google rewarded them with superior search engine placement.
9
Positive User Experience This method of organization also lead (most often) to a positive user experience as well. The technique of organizing one's content around keywords and keyword phrases became known as siloing the content.
10
Unfortunately, without warning or explanations of any kind, the Wonder Wheel completely vanished in 2011.
11
Users were, shall we say, perturbed and perplexed.
12
However, the Concept of Siloing the content was very much alive, and still encouraged by Google.
13
Great Analogy! A great analogy was provided, however. Which of the 2 examples would you say was more apt to be rewarded for being about ORANGE JELLY BEANS?
14
What’s this site about? The whole idea was to avoid appearance of haphazard structure as shown.
15
Many articles were written, which tried to explain the concepts of how to implement Content Silos. Honestly, unless you were a wizard or a programmer, these simply left the average user More confused and frustrated.
16
A good number of plugins and even some themes were put out that were aimed at helping the average user accomplish this concept, but they had bugs, were clunky, and often just added to the confusion.
17
So, the silo concept was relatively clear. How to achieve the concept within WordPress was NOT.
18
Along Came my good Friend; Patrick Tuttle.
19
He has spent the last few months intensively simplifying the process, and making it as step-by-step as it could possibly Be.
20
His Wonder Silo Plugin takes you by the hand,
22
As a long-time instructor, I can attest that one of the best ways to learn a process is experiential, or by DOING it. Patrick's Wonder Silo Plugin is like a cookbook for the silo process.
23
Not Only is the plugin a Huge Time-saver, it helps you really learn, understand and integrate the process of siloing your content.
24
And when you are done, You will wonder why the process seemed confusing. Patrick's plugin made it about as simple as making Jello.
25
And, Patrick made it easy to use, for simple blogs, where you can do posts, or for Full-blown websites, with thousands of pages. Your content will be structured, organized, and get the SEO rewards, as well as user appreciation for being able to find what they are looking for. This plugin has my Top Recommendation!
