Home The “home” Jesus has promised is the very reason for our faith.
6
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house there are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
7
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also.” Jn 14:1-3
8
Home Great “heroes of faith” teach us about the “home” God has in mind for us.
9
“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.” Heb 11:8
10
“By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise;…
11
…for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” Heb 11:9-10
12
“These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
13
For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return.
14
But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them. Heb 11:13-16

This world is not my home, I’m just a passing through; My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue; The angels beckon me from heaven’s open door, And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore. O Lord, You know I have no friend like You, If heaven’s not my home, then Lord, what will I do? The angels beckon me from heaven’s open door, And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore. Home Our worship this morning should remind us of the Father at “home” and the Savior who died for us and who waits for us there.

Don’t you want to go “Home?”
