Types of Plate Movement What are the different types of plate movements that can happen? Continental convergence Oceanic convergence Oceanic-continental subduction Divergence Hotspots Transformations

Physical Model Each group is going to be given one of these different types of plate movement to create a physical model of Brainstorm with your group how you will create the model You can use any materials in the classroom We are building the model on Thursday so you can also bring in anything you have at home to help make it Your group will fill out a planning worksheet to help get started thinking about what you need to include in your model

Model Checklist While you are planning your model, keep in mind that it should help your classmates learn about your assigned plate boundary Also, be sure to include the effects that your plate boundary included in your model. For example, if you plate boundary creates a landform with its movement, that landform should be a part of your model Be sure to plan out the materials you will need to build the model We will build models on Thursday, as well as writing a description about your group’s model

Case Study Sites You and your shoulder partner will get 5 case study sites to explore Each of you will look at them You will analyze each case study site and fill out the chart using what you have already learned about plate movement
