2. 2 The Slovak Republic is the first new member state of the European Union to have the independent Operational Programme Health. –OPH approved on 8th November 2007 –Allocation 250 millions EUR from ERDF more than 44 millions EUR from state budget –The global objective of the OPH is “Improvement of the conditions influencing health state of the productive-age and unproductive-age population of the SR by increasing quality, accessibility and effectiveness of the healthcare and health support under the healthcare infrastructure”.

3. 3 The global objective will be fulfilled by two priority axes: –Priority axis 1 aimed at modernization of the healthcare system of hospitals –Priority axis 2 oriented on the support of health and the prevention of health risks within the priority axis 2 there will be realized two national projects “Purchase and supply of mobile mamographic units” and “National Transfusion Service of the SR infrastructure completion”.
