CTP Anniversary – CTP began with first progressive ban on October 1, 2008 – Next CTP progressive ban January 1, 2009 – Tracking progress with Truck Activity Report System (TARS) Combines terminal gate data with the Port Drayage Truck Registry (PDTR) Produces actual truck activity reports and statistics

TARS: Moves by Ban Period 2007 Standard trucks are moving more than 50% of the cargo!

TARS: Clean Truck Deployment Private industry has stepped up to the plate An average of 35 privately funded trucks per week have been added since data collection began

TARS Data collection began on February 18, 2009 Trend analysis from July allows for most accurate data set and focuses on peak season

TARS: Alternative Fuel Vehicle Trends Alternative Fuels are gaining market share Represents 1,500 LNG truck trips per day

TARS: Frequency Analysis 2007 Standard trucks make and average of 2.33 turns/day 2004-2006 trucks make an average of only 1.16 turns/day

Clean Trucks Program Next Steps – Up to 500 LNG trucks to be deployed through Prop. 1B – Next ban January 1, 2010 – 80% reduction in diesel particulate matter due to progressive ban and retrofit requirements
