The Hope of the Resurrection
2
Isaiah 53:7-8 (LB) “He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He never said a word. He was brought as a lamb to the slaughter; and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He stood silent before the ones condemning Him. From prison and trial they led Him away to His death.”
3
Isaiah 53:5–6 (LB) “But He was wounded and bruised for our sins. He was beaten that we might have peace; He was lashed—and we were healed! We—every one of us—have strayed away like sheep! We, who left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet God laid on Him the guilt and sins of every one of us!”
4
John 3:16–17 (NIV84) “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.”

“You said you were going to destroy the Temple and rebuild it in three days. Well then, if you are the Son of God, save yourself and come down from the cross!” Matthew 27:40 (NLT)

2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. 4 The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. Matthew 28:2–4 (NIV84) “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of his enemies. He will be killed, but three days later he will rise from the dead.” Mark 9:31 (NLT)

Luke 24:1–7 (NIV84) “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen! “On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus…suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them…the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen! Remember how He told you… ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ”

“No one is good—no one in all the world is innocent.” No one has ever really followed God’s paths or even truly wanted to. Every one has turned away; all have gone wrong. No one anywhere has kept on doing what is right; not one. Romans 3:10–12 (The Living Bible)
13
“God will see Himself, the Lamb for the sacrifice.”
14
“But the fact is that Christ did actually rise from the dead and has become the first of millions who will come back to life again someday. 1 Corinthians 15:20 (Living Bible))

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
