11 Harmful or Irritant Used to label chemicals that may cause damage to health or inflammation to the skin or other mucous membranes.

12 Flammable Used to label chemicals that may catch fire in contact with air, only need brief contact with an ignition source, have a very low flash point or evolve highly flammable gases in contact with water.

13 Oxidising Used to label chemicals that react exothermically with other chemicals giving out heat. These should never be stored alongside flammable chemicals.

14 Toxic Chemicals labelled with this sign cause damage to health at low levels, may cause cancer or increase its incidence. See CHIP for more information.

15 Corrosive These chemicals may destroy living tissue on contact.

16 Explosive Label used with chemicals that explode.

18 CHIP TO CLP (Classification, Labelling and Packaging) Regulations of Substances and Mixtures)
CHIP is being replaced by CLP regulations Already being phased in Fully replaced in 2015 After this CHIP will be withdrawn This is to align with GHS - Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals This is to align safety labelling and support trade The CLP symbols are also accompanied by hazard and precaution statements (similar to R and S phrases)

28 CONTAINS GAS UNDER PRESSURE
