F=Focus-what is the subject/theme of the story or text you are reading The focus is not every thing that happens in the story A=Author-who wrote the text T=Title-what is the title? Book titles are underlined when writing and italicized when typing, short stories and poems go in quotation marks T=Text Type-what is the text-short story, novel, poem Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, a novel by J. K. Rowling, is about a boy who must defy authority.
