How it was developed York University analysis –Literature search –Analysis of Millennium Cohort Study (MCS) ChiMat created population tool –Collected datasets in 2 development sites –Analysis on MCS age 3 to outcomes at 5 yrs York University focus groups –What parents think –What professionals think
12
How did we develop this further? Year 3: 2010-11 ChiMat and DH developed… Three population tools based on the amount of data available locally 1.Pre-birth model 2.Post-birth model 3.Partnership model Professional resources Working with numerous pilot sites to test…. population tools and manuals website professional resources with MWs and HVs

PREview … is a concept with great potential and possibilities, but: sites may collecting data items locally? data may not be held electronically data sharing may not be straightforward however: the research and evidence provides a solid knowledge base for predicting child outcomes provides a firm rationale for collecting specific pieces of information it has the potential to add new ways of working constructively with parents to benefit babies
19
Resources online… Evidence based research reports Population tools including a “how to” manual for local areas to use their own data and create their own local maps Professional resources – for HVs, MWs and others to see how they can utilise PREview in their work Visualisation diagrams and videos that help explain the relationship between factors at birth and 3yrs with outcomes at 5 years www.chimat.org.uk/preview
