IR, SER AND HACER IN THE PRETERITE

All three verbs in the preterite are irregular For all three verbs, there are not any accents on any of the forms. woo hoo!

IR AND SER In the preterite, ir and ser have the exact same conjugations. The endings are the same as –er/-ir endings in the preterite except for in the ellos, ellas, ustedes form. It drops the “i”.

HACER Hacer has irregular conjugations in the preterite and there are no accents. Also, the endings are a mixture between –ar and –er/ -ir. Notice that the c becomes a z before the o.

¡PRACTICAMOS! 1.I went to the store yesterday. 2.She was tall. 3.Marcos and I did homework the day before yesterday. 4.The boys were from Buenos Aires. 5.You were a teacher. 6.Y’all made the bed.

¡PRACTICAMOS! 1.Yo fui a la tienda ayer. 2.Ella fue alta. 3.Marcos y yo hicimos la tarea anteayer. 4.Los chicos fueron de Buenos Aires. 5.Tú fuiste una maestra. 6.Vosotros hicisteis la cama.
