Day One Our goal was to determine the time it would take to melt ice cubes using different techniques. We placed an ice cube in a cup and placed it outside in the sun. We placed another ice cube in a cup and used a blow dyer on it. We know that ice will melt at 33 degrees. The temperature outside was 64 degrees and sunny. The ice cube was placed directly in the sun light. The second cube was placed in a cup and we used the blow dryer on it. The temperature using the blow dryer was 188.8 degrees. The ice took 13 minutes to melt completely. It took 33 minutes for the ice to melt outside. There was a difference of 20 minutes using the blow dryer and the sun.

Day Two We placed an ice cube in a cup and placed it outside in the sun. We placed another ice cube in a cup and used a blow dyer on it. The temperature outside was 64 degrees and sunny. The ice cube was placed directly in the sun light. The second cube was placed in a cup and we used the blow dryer on it. The temperature using the blow dryer was 181.8 degrees. The ice took 19 minutes to melt completely. It took 33 minutes for the ice to melt outside. There was a difference of 14 minutes using the blow dryer and the sun.

Day Three We placed an ice cube in a cup and placed it outside in the sun. We placed another ice cube in a cup and used a blow dyer on it. The temperature outside was 75 degrees and sunny. The ice cube was placed directly in the sun light. The second cube was placed in a cup and we used the blow dryer on it. The temperature using the blow dryer was 182 degrees. The ice took 20 minutes to melt completely. It took 30 minutes for the ice to melt outside. There was a difference of 10 minutes using the blow dryer and the sun. Conclusion: The blow dryer heat is hotter then the sun and will melt the ice quickly.
