Honesty and Integrity Knowing that one’s word can be counted on and that one is “shooting straight.”

Consistency Be consistent in dealing with student discipline, teacher relations and daily routines.

Humility Do not be afraid to ask questions if you do know the answer to a question or about a particular policy or procedure.

Vision Knowing that one has a vision for the direction of a school and how to move toward realizing that vision.

Knowledge of Policy Demonstrate the desire to know about the policies of a school and how and why those policies were developed.

Reliability Being a presence in the building and following through on ones commitments.

Organiziation Keeping track of important dates, documents, events: keeping one’s self generally organized.

Foresight Demonstrate an awareness of the ramifications of certain decisions and policy changes and how those changes might affect the school.

Balance Keeping a sense of balance between getting bogged down with the details and keeping the larger issues or “the big picture” of a school in mind.

Commitment Be committed to the job. It is difficult; it takes time and effort. Show your commitment to the school, staff and students
