Student Council Meetings
We will meet once a month during advisory in Ms. McAlpine’s room

Primary Positions of Student council
President Vice President Secretary Treasurer Grade Level Representatives

The President’s Job… Helps run the Student Council meetings
Serves as the Council’s representative to Ms. McAlpine and meets with her to discuss new ideas Represents CD Fulkes at school events Makes important announcements for the organization throughout the year

The Vice President’s Job…
Takes over for president if he/she is absent or can not complete their duties Helps manage the meeting and create the meeting agendas Reads minutes of last meeting to the council

Takes minutes at each Student Council meeting
The secretary’s job… Takes minutes at each Student Council meeting Takes attendance at each meeting Delivers needed documents to staff and students

Comes up with ideas on how to raise money
The treasurer’s job… After each fund raiser, he/she will announce how much money was made and give an updated report of the council’s balance Comes up with ideas on how to raise money Keeps a running record of all expenses (with the help of Ms. McAlpine)

Qualifications for Student Council
President: Grade 8 Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary: Grade 7 or 8 Students running for office must be in good standing both academically and behaviorally Students running for office must complete and turn in their intent to run paperwork by October 2nd !

Acceptable Campaigning
Posters Flyers Video for advisory presentation Persuading students and staff in person during free time NO FOOD OR DRINK IS TO BE HANDED OUT AT ANY TIME!!

Campaigning rules In your campaign posters or videos, you may NOT: Disrespect, insult, or slander other people in any way Lie or give false information Place any language or visual that is NOT appropriate for the school setting Promise changes to our school rules or procedures

And if you break the campaign rules…
You will be disqualified from the election.

If I want to run for Student Council, what do I do?
Pick up an intent to run packet from Ms. McAlpine in room 404 Registration Deadline: Friday October 2, 2015 Campaigning will be held the week of October 5-9 Elections will be held October 13th during advisory
