2. Question 1 What evidence in Macbeth’s conversation with the murderer reeals Macbeth’s abrupt change in tone regarding the events surrounding Banquo’s murder? “Then comes my fit again. I had else been perfect, Whole as the marble, founded as the rock, As broad and general as the casing air.” Lines 21-23 Pg 252. His attitude/tone is different because this time he is MORE power hungry and self-centered. He is turning into his wife, crazy and careless.

3. Question 2 Q: Which sentences are spoken by Macbeth as an aside? How can you tell where the aside begins and ends? “Then come my fit again. i had else been perfect.” “To saucy doubts and fears. - But Banquo’s safe?” lines 21 and 25 You can tell by how they start and end from how the sentence is stated. He’s not only questioning the situation and his choices, he is questioning everything as a whole and stating as if he is innocent and is doing “right” to be where he is now. ( Becoming King )

4. Question 3 Q: Point out and Analyze the words Macbeth uses to indicate his feelings about the news of Fleance. Word examples are...else, casing air, cribbled, cabined, confined, doubts, and fears else - another problem ( Fleance ). doubts- worried, hesitation casing air - “poison” or “suffocating” air. fears- threats, distress, panic cabined- closed in or cornered cribbled- “in a hole”, stuck confined- limited, restricted

5. Question 4 Q: The ghost of Banquo sits in Macbeth’s seat, but on Macbeth can see him. Are we to believe Banquo’s ghost is there or that Macbeth is losing his mind? We believe that MacBeth is losing his mind. To see a ghost is a figure is a person’s imagination most times. He is seeing Banquo’s ghost out of guilt and possible shame.

6. Question 5 Q: Macbeth says he's fears nothing, except the ghost. Why does help fear the ghost over an thing else? What else should help fear? He fears the ghost over anything because they are what brings emotion out of you and he doesn't want to feel any of it. He should fear letting the truth out to the wrong person, being confronted about past events, or even ultimately being killing for his wrong doings.

7. Question 6 Q:Macbeth is growing increasing desperate. Why? Hey is king, finally....but what does he fear at the scene's end? He's grown extremely desperate because he has gotten to a point where he wants not one taking the throne. He has hired men to kill his best friend and son. Then after the death of Banquo and Fleance escaping, he sees Banquo's ghost and it causes him to have outbursts in front of his guests at the host dinner him and Lady MacBeth had set up. SO much has happened to him emotionally and mentally. “Come, we’ll to sleep. My strange and self-abuse, Is the initiate fear that wants hard use. We are yet but young in deed. Lines 142- 144. He fears his vision of the ghost is only the result of a beginner’s fear, to be cured with practice. ( on the side of page 257 in hard book )

Safe in a ditch he bides, With twenty trenched gashes on his head, The least a death to nature. “ Lines 26-28 Metaphor “The worm that’s fled hath nature that in time venom breed; NO teeth before th’ present” Lines 29-31 Symbol The Devil because he is a symbol of the violence Macbeth has caused in sins. “Ay, and a bold one, that dare look on that Which might appall the devil.” Lines 59-60 Personification “It will have blood, they say. blood will have blood.” Ghost having a human like form. Ghosts aren't living they're dead. Lines 97-100 Hyperbole “Then comes my fit again. I had else been perfect, Whole as the marble, founded as the rock, As broad and general as the casing air. But now I am cabined, cribbled, confined, bound in To saucy doubts and fears. - But Banquo’s safe?” Lines 21-25
