The course is an online based class through Falcon Online (class.daytonastate.edu)class.daytonastate.edu Your Home Page will display the different courses that you have for this semester The course home will include Events, Updates and News Widgets, log in at least once every 24 hours to get the latest updates Click on the course link and navigate through the different tabs (Content, Discussions, …etc)

Course material will be posted under the Content tab, including: ◦ lecture presentations ◦ course information (syllabus, course schedule) Grades will have a separate tab The Discussions tab will be used for related and professional course discussions only Assignments will be posted under the Dropbox tab Quizzes and exams will be posted under the quizzes tab Always look for (lectures, assignments, exams, change in schedule, or other announcements)

Term Paper submission should be through Falcon Online (don’t email the term paper unless you’ve been asked to do so) Late submission will NOT be accepted Use the following format for term paper name submission (TP_4884_YourLastName) Write the title of the paper, your full name and email address at the top of the first page Should be submitted in MS Word format See term paper guidelines

There will be four quizzes and a comprehensive Final Exam There will be NO review session before the exam (if you have any question you can email it or come and see me during office hours) The final exam will have 50 questions True/False and Multiple Choice, 2 points each

To provide students with the foundation for understanding the key issues associated with protecting information assets, determining the levels of protection and response to security incidents, and designing a consistent, reasonable information security system, with appropriate intrusion detection and reporting features.

Understand the concepts of information security Recognize the need to integrate information security with the business architecture Describe and evaluate methodologies used to identify risks, vulnerabilities, and threats in organizations’ processes and how to mitigate their impact. Describe the layers of the security architecture and evaluate technologies that can be implemented to secure each layer. Construct security audits, penetration testing, continuity of operations planningand disaster recovery.
