She is currently a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, pursing a PhD in Sociology. Ja’Dell previously taught high school in Philadelphia public schools, and implemented college access and academic enrichment programming in Chester, Pennsylvania and New York City in Manhattan’s Lower East Side neighborhood. Ja’Dell received her B.A. from Swarthmore College with a special major in History and Educational Studies, and a minor in Black Studies. She completed her M.S.Ed in Secondary School Education at the University of Pennsylvania. 3. The Los Lagos Region, which includes Chiloé Island off Chile’s central coast, marks the northern reaches of the kelp goose’s habitat. This beach-dwelling bird dines on several varieties of its namesake sea vegetation. And in an unusual spin on gender-specific plumage, the male has plain white feathers while the female sports brown plumes with nifty gray pinstripes. With most bird species, the male has flashy, decorative feathers so he can attract the attention of females. But maybe there’s something to the stark attire of the male kelp goose, at least in the eyes of the female kelp goose. What are the uses and benefits of kelp among both humans and animals?
