2 What is Michigan Digital Content? Michigan Digital Content courses were purchased from Florida Virtual with a grant. These courses were designed for online delivery by a teacher. 31 courses are available to Michigan educators in Moodle and Blackboard formats. Michigan educators can upload copies of the courses into their own Moodle or Blackboard sites, and then use them with their own students.

4 How teachers can get a course Complete the online request form: Michigan Digital Content Course Request (Purpose of this is to meet copyright requirements and provide data for grant reports.)Michigan Digital Content Course Request After you submit the form, a human will read and respond to your request by email as soon as possible.

5 Behind the scenes… 1. Laura Cummings and Judy Nichols at OS will create a hidden course in each district’s OS-hosted Moodle site called Archive. 2. After a teacher completes the online request form, Laura and Judy get an email. 3. They will upload a zip file of the requested course to the Archive in the teacher’s district Moodle. 4. They will send an email to that district Moodle Admin (and cc: the teacher) about the request and the zip file. 5. The district Moodle Admin can go to the Archive, restore the course and assign it to the teacher.

6 What if two teachers want the same course? Teacher A requests a course and we upload the zip to your Archive, and you restore it for Teacher A. Teacher B wants the same course—you already have it in your Archive – Please ask Teacher B to go to the OS Moodle Download page and fill out the online Michigan Digital Content Request Form. – We’ll get an email about the request, forward it to the Moodle Admin, and you can restore and assign the course to Teacher B.
