2 Anotace: Anotace DUM je určen pro žáky 4. ročníků maturitních oborů SOŠ jako materiál pro přípravu ke školní části maturitní zkoušky. Je v něm spojen výklad s procvičením – rozpoznáváním odlišností v gramatice a slovní zásobě v britské a americké angličtině. Materiál inovuje výuku použitím interaktivní tabule. Metodický pokyn Očekávaným výstupem je osvojení si základních rozdílů mezi britskou a americkou angličtinou. Žáci si zároveň rozšiřují slovní zásobu o nové výrazy a procvičují vybrané gramatické jevy.

8 DIFFERENCES IN GRAMMAR Some irregular verbs with two past forms are used in a different way: LEARN – LEARNED / LEARNT In BrE the irregular form is used (learnt) In Am E the regular form is used (learned) Other words with two forms: BURN / BURNT / BURNED DREAM / DREAMT / DREAMED

12 DIFFERENCES IN VOCABULARY There are about 1000 words that are different in British and American English. In both languages there is different terminology used in these areas: Water / road / railway transport Car industry British English: bonnet, boot, lorry American English: hood, trunk, truck
