Distance from the nearest star to the sun = 40,800,000,000,000 Km The time taken to travel that distance at 100 km/hr = 46 million years (171 years earth to sun)‏ The time taken at Jumbo Jet speed = 5 million years (19 years earth to sun)‏ The time taken at Concorde speed = 1.7 million years (7 years earth to sun)‏

At this scale the entire solar sytem has a diameter of 3mm, about the size of a pinhead. The rest of the vast distance contains nothing of note.

6. This shows that space is mostly empty. The photos you are about to see seem to show that it is crammed full of stars but there is a huge distance between each star. First a comparison of the size of earth with the planets and our sun. Then the sun with a few stars.

16. There are over 100 billion billion stars like our sun. That is over 16 billion stars for each person on earth. Psalm 147:4 He counts the number of the stars. He calls them all by their names. This is near the centre of the Milky Way
