#5: The Revelation Of God To Man
2
We cannot control God We cannot directly study Him or know Him We can only seek Him to the degree He allows Himself to be found
3
God Is Exalted Above Man Psalm 46:10 – Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
4
Psalm 99:2 – The Lord is great in Zion, and He is exalted above all the peoples.
5
Some reject Him because He is not provable Some cast Him in their own images – creating conversations with Him in their minds Some meet Him ONLY in His revelation.
6
Revelation comes FROM God TO man God reveals Himself only according to HIS will (not ours). Matthew 11:27 -- All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.
7
“I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.” Manifested by Jesus
8
No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.
9
God is never FULLY revealed! Matthew 18:10 – “See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven. 1 Peter 1:12 – “It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced…things into which angels long to look.
10
“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!
11
John 1:14 – “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
12
“For God, who said, ‘Light shall shine out of darkness,’ is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.”
13
Hebrews 1:1-3a – God, after He spoke long ago…in these last days has spoken to us in His Son…And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature….”
