Ridgewood High School www.ridgenet.org From Home Page – decide what you’d like to explore. Select that category, from either the black menu bar, or Navigation bar on the left. Follow the drop down menus to further narrow your search. To return to Home Page click on the Home Page icon.

WHRS Radio /Television Broadcast (our cable TV & Radio Station) can be accessed thru Home page or by visiting - www.wrhs.ilhigh.com Athletic Departments Schedules of sporting events Library – provides access to resource databases Student Services – Access to College /Career Resources, Counseling. RIDGEWOOD HIGH SCHOOL STATE-OF-THE ART LIBRARY Mrs. Gonzalez is getting ready for Lit Fest On Saturday, April 6 th 9:30AM to 4:00PM This free event for teens is a Teen READ workshop. ($5 for adults) Meet Six Exciting Authors and celebrate Reading while having fun! The event starts at the Eisenhower Library at 9:00AM and then moves to Ridgewood High School at 11:30AM for Vince’s Pizza 12:15-3:00 sessions with the authors 3:15-4:00 concluding with an author autograph party. Please encourage all to attend. The Rebel Library Our Rebel Library has 30 computers as well as over 20,000 books, DVDs, and other materials for students to use. Library databases can be accessed 24 hrs a day from either school or home. The Librarian - Mrs. Jennette Gonzaelz is our Librarian. The students spend free time here working together, collaborating and reading from our wide array of literature and materials available in a safe environment. The Technology Along with the 30 computers, students have access to Macbook computers, Flip camcorders, digital cameras, and other technology to help create interactive multimedia projects. Students come here during the day to work on projects and research papers. The Student Resource Center Is another on- line database for students covering any topic or issue. It can be accessed thru the link found on the RHS Library home page 24 hours a day using the Username and Password: ridgewood234

What is E-School? E-School is a 24-hour Home Access Center for students and parents/guardians. Here, you are able to access information on: Student’s schedule Student’s attendance/discipline Daily homework assignments Class work grades Test scores

How do You Access E-School? To access E-School you need to go to RHS’s website at www.Ridgenet.org and on the left-hand side of the home page, click on “Home Access”. A log-in screen will appear on the Home Access Center page. Enter your User Name and Password. This information is issued to students and parents/guardians by our E-School Department. Click on “Log In”. (Please see your handouts for more details)

E-School & Changing Your Password You will now see a screen that will ask you to compose 2 challenge questions and answers. Once you have done that, you will be at your home page. From the left-hand column, you can choose what you want to see, i.e. class work, attendance, schedule, etc. E-School home access is the best way to access information.

Naviance Allows students/families to investigate, research, track and plan for the college admission process. Features include: College search and look-up. College match. This allows you to link your academic records with your college applications and match you with colleges that you may want to apply to. College compare. This allows you to compare GPA’s and test scores for accepted students at up to 10 colleges. Communicate with guidance counselors via e-mail. Perform scholarship searches. Locate financial aid help.

How Do You Access Naviance? To access Naviance, you will need to: Access RHS’ website at www.Ridgenet.org Next, click on “Student Services” on the home page. On the left side of the page, click on “Naviance” and click on the Naviance link shown. Note: Before you can log in, however, you will need a username and password which can be obtained thru the student’s guidance counselor.

Preparing for Freshman Year The key to a successful student is student involvement with parental support. How can students get involved? Participate in class Ask questions/seek help/form study groups Use the library and reputable on-line resources Join activities, music, drama or sports—you don’t have to join everything, just pick one to start. Stay connected with family and friends, believe it or not, they can be a good resource! Preparing for your freshman year begins with good sleep habits, diet and exercise. Start getting organized now and form routines. Manage your time efficiently. Freshmen can enroll in “The Freshman Experience” which is a summer program to help the students prepare for their first year at Ridgewood High School.

Creating an Email Account First decide what provider you will use. We are using gmail.com. (yahoo & hotmail are free) To the left where the arrow is the address bar, type www.gmail.comwww.gmail.com Once on the Google site, there is a section create account. It will take you to a page to enter your personal information. Once you have your email address, you can now send and receive information.
