Let’s try to grasp the problem
8
“Doubt is not always a sign that a man is wrong. It may be a sign that he is thinking.” Oswald Chambers
9
Key note Big Difference between doubt and unbelief. Doubt – based in the mind. Unbelief - a matter of the heart. Doubt = when we don’t understand what God is doing, and why He is doing it. Unbelief = when we know what God has told us to do and we refuse to believe it.
10
Contributing to Our Doubts A desire to know it all A need to be in control Fear of getting too close to God Hurts in the past that we won’t let go of No real desire for answers, because having them would mean we’d have to change
11
"Central to the Christian experience is the art of questioning God. Not belligerent, arrogant questions that have no respect for our Maker, but naked, honest, vulnerable, raw questions arising out of the awe that comes from engaging the living God. This type of questioning frees us. Frees us from having it all figured out. Frees us from having answers to everything. Frees us from having to be right. It allows us to have moments when we come to the end of our ability to comprehend. Moments when the silence is enough.“ - Rob Bell

12 Now we see things imperfectly as in a cloudy mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. 1 Cor 13:12 (NLT)

Some perspective might help
19
Doubts presented to God can be used by Him to temper our faith and make it stronger
21
28 “My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed.29 Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.” John 20:28-29 (NLT)

A True Faith rests in God

25 Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth.26 My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever. Psalms 73:25-26 (NLT)
