IDEA states that the progress of all students must be documented and used to make decisions on how the material is taught. We can define collaboration as two or more people working together to successful at a goal. Collaboration can be very difficult. Several Ways to track the progress of students A. Anecdotal Records- one way to keep track of the progress a student is making.

8/10 students who are identified to have a learning disability are identified in the subject area of reading. Students who have a reading disability are reading between 3-5 years lower than their peers. Teenagers have a greater chance to be found in the general ed classroom 8/10 times in their day at school

General Ed Teacher- Responsible for knowledge of content in specific areas. Special Ed Teacher- Responsible for instruction and accommodations. When general education, special education, and reading specialists work together they can help a teenage student who is having a difficult time.

Strategy that helps students answer questions after they have read any piece of text. Helps students pick out important information, make inferences, and self- evaluate how well they understand what they read. Two ways for the student to find the answers: In the book or In My Head

Special Education Teacher- strategies for how to teach General Education Teacher- Expertise in area of content Curriculum Specialist- helps organize everything that is needed to teach.

Use of an anticipatory set- helps students show what they know Model each question type- Shows students how to find an answer to a question Practice with help of teacher- makes the teacher aware if students understand or do not understand how to use this strategy Practice alone- to see if students fully understand what they are doing. Closure- use a summative assessment to make sure students have fully grasped the concept.

Collaboration is when two or more people work as a team to successfully complete goals. IDEA states that the progress of all students must be documented and used to make decisions on how the material is taught. QAR is one strategy that teachers can use to collaborate QAR is a collaboration strategy that can help see the progress of a student just like an anecdotal record.
