1 LESSON PLAN  LEARNING AREA/SUBJECT : PHYSICAL SCIENCE  GRADE: 10  TOPIC/THEME: CENTRE OF MASS  LESSON DURATION : 30 MINUTES

2 SITUATION ANALYSIS  SITUATION AND ENTRY SITUATION(INCLUDING PERSONAL, SOCIAL, SUBJECT SPECIFIC OR SCHOOL RELATED ISSUES) A class of 36 learners in a groups of 6 doing grade 10 at a rural school, learners are encouraged to bring old news papers.

3 Critical outcomes Learners will be able to work together as a team and be able to think critically. Developmental outcomes  learners will or should be able to participate effectively and reflectively in the society. Learning outcomes  Be able to recognise the forces acting on the human being.

4 Lesson outcomes a) minds-on lesson outcomes (bloom’s taxonomy) The learners will be able to think creatively and understand all the forces acting on the human body. b) hands-on lesson outcomes ( where applicable) Each learner will do the experiment and try not to topple over.

5 Hearts-on lesson outcomes  They all should be interested.

6 Introduction/ attention focusing phase  Ask two learners to come forward and stand against the wall with their heels on the wall and try to touch their toes and they topple over.

7 conclusion of the lesson/consolidation  Conclusion all the learners will be able to calculate weight and they will each receive homework.

8 assessment Reflect on assessment methods(self, peer, group or teacher), tools and form of assessment)  I will ask each group questions about what they think is the reason for them to topple over and be able see when their mass is not under their feet.
